Reader
Performance
Kunsthalle Wien
21st June 2026
Part of PW LIVE: In Living Daylight, a programme of performances, curated in the context of the exhibition Lebt und arbeitet in Wien.
Reader explores the body of a reader as a site of conflicting desires and drifting attention, where multiple texts converge, and notions of individual selfhood dissolve.
Comprised of text fragments from Tiqqun, Lisa Robertson, Hannah Arendt, Julien Bismuth, David Antin, and Tan Lin, the script unfolds as a stream of borrowed, remixed, and disembodied language, tracing questions of authorship and agency, submission and pleasure, plagiarism, boredom and ambient literature.
Reader was originally co-created and performed with Mathilde Heuliez, George Macbeth, Giulia Ottavia Frattini, Jonathan Lubasch, and Kristina Stallvik in Berlin, 2023
This second iteration was performed with Alexandra Octavia Corodan, Tao Iver, Simone Molinari, and Miriam Stoney, and with musical interludes from Robert Ashley, “Blue” Gene Tyranny, and Marcel Duchamp.
