BIORHYTHM
Performance collaboration with Rosie Burslem, developed during a residency in the Lake District.
2019
Two performers repeatedly hum while amplifying the sound of their heartbeats through an ultrasound doppler. The heart’s rhythm is controlled and manipulated by the act of humming, speeding up and slowing down and levelling out.
The digital screens of the doppler and sound recorder are projected on a nearby wall as they translate and relay information.
It is a work about the softness and hardness of bodies and machines, about liquid, rhythm, and communication.
